Voicethread

List two ways you would use voicethread in your classroom.

11 comments:

  1. 1. Using voicethread, I would have students upload comment in the form of a verbal response (either as a video or just an audioclip) to whatever clip or photo I had posted, in the target language in order to gauge their ability to pronounce and express themselves in the language their learning.
    2. I would upload a list of vocab words to voicethread and require that students post a video/audio file of them practicing the words a certain amount of times and asses them based on both participation and pronunciation.

  2. Voicethread can be used in the classroom to practice or review vocabulary (It is better than a power point). Also, it can be used to create Voicethread using the iPad to have conference with the students

  3. I will use voicethread as a way to make global connections with students from not only other communities nearby but from all over the world. I think that this will help students to understand that people have different points of view. I would also use voicethread for digital story telling. especially in a history class there are plenty of stories to tell, using voicethread for digital story telling would allow me to give students new information in a new and exciting way that would keep them interested and engaged.

  4. One great way to use the voicethread would if I were absent. When students see that there is a sub in the classroom they go wild. I would want my students to know that even though I am gone, I am still thinking about them. I would have the substitute show the video in the beginning of class and explain to the children what behaviors I expect from them and what activities they will be doing for that day.
Another way I would use the voicethread would be for assessing the students. I would post a video of myself doing skills wrong, and have the students use the doodle technique to point to what I am doing wrong and then comment how I would fix it.

  5. One way I could use voicethread specifically as a Spanish teacher is record myself saying a unit's vocabulary. This way when students are practicing at home, they know the correct pronunciation of the word. Another way I could use voicethread is for my lectures. I can record my lectures, for instance, ones that introduce a new topic or talk about something super important/imperative for the students to know. This way, if a student is either absent, forgot to write a part down, wants to use it to study, etc. they will have my voicethread available.

  6. One way i could use voice thread is to have students record themselves giving presentations and post them this could serve many purposes. Students would be able to hear there own presentation and evaluate how they did, it would also help students who are shy to present projects, i could also go back and revisit the projects if i missed something when i was evaluating them the first time. I could also use voice thread to record my lectures, this way students could go back and go over them when they study or if they missed class

  7. 1. I can record students preforming skills that they have just learned, and they have to watch themselves and 2 other people and make a comment on what they could fix and how they could fix it.
    2. If there was a sub, I could record what I want to be taught that day. Or just record the lesson and the sub can play it back to the children

  8. 1. Using voicethread I could record information that was covered in class for students that are absent, or would just like to review. Students will have the opportunity to discuss the lesson.
    2. I could also post pictures of historical places, people, documents that we will be covering the next day, and have students comment on what they think the significance of the picture is prior to the lesson.

  9. As a foreign language teacher, using Voicethread can be very helpful. I could record the week's vocabulary list for my students to refer to while doing homework/practice for correct pronunciation. Also, I think using voice thread would be a great way of assessing students' pronunciation of the content outside of class. It could help to save time because I would be able to review/criticize their work on my time, leaving more time in class.

  10. 1. I would use voice thread for student assessment. This would be a type of authentic assessment which in physical education, is the BEST type of assessment. I would critique students and have them evaluate their own performance!

    2. I would also voice thread so students can see examples of the skills that they are learning. By being able to see and hear the proper technique and cues, students have a better chance of learning the skill correctly and quickly.

  11. 1. I would use voice thread in my classroom to have class discussions about different Spanish accents. I would use my own video and experience and have the students respond with their comments and record their voices.
    2. I can also use voice thread to record expressions, vocabulary and other parts of speaking. I could record my voice and have students respond with their speaking so that they could practice their pronunciation and learn vocabulary.
